The mission of Foundation for Children with Cancer is to financially assist the families of children with cancer. By providing tangible and direct financial support, such as mortgage payments, insurance premiums and utility bills, families are given a greater opportunity to focus on their child’s treatment and recovery. | ||||
The Foundation for Children with Cancer is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing support for children throughout their cancer treatment. Our goal is to allow these children to experience the amount of normality in their everyday life that they deserve.
When many of us hear the word cancer we think of it as a terminal illness, one that only affects the adults of society. This however is a misconception; one in every 330 Americans develops cancer before the age of twenty. It can strike any individual at any given time with no warning, causing both emotional and financial difficulties for the victims as well as their loved ones.
An estimated 12,400 new cases of pediatric cancer will occur in the U.S. every year. One in every four of these cases will not survive the fight. For the others, there is still a chance, and that is why we are here.
Foundation for Children with Cancer was created in 1998 to help support families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Our goals include: celebrating the importance of family in the lives of a child with cancer; educating others about the impact of having a child diagnosed with cancer; and honoring the unique journey that each child takes when they are diagnosed with cancer.
