The aim of the Day is to help children with cancer get the best possible treatment and care, no matter where they live in the world, by raising both awareness and money.
People around the world are uniting in support of the sixth International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day. In celebration of this special day, The Foundation for Children with Cancer has schools, Colleges and Universities all hosting Hats On Day and a Children Are Golden Campaign. Both of these fundraising events raise money and awareness for childhood cancer!!!!!!!!!!! Here is the list of schools who participated in these events on February 15, 2008:
HATS ON DAY
CHILDREN ARE GOLDEN
St. Elmo Jr/Sr High School, ILIt is sad, but true….
- 250,000 children in the world get cancer each year.
- Because 80% of the world’s children live in developing countries, they do not get access to diagnosis and treatment that could prevent 100,000 of these children dying.
