Thumbelina’s Visit to a Miami School

thumbelina.gif Recently, Thumbelina made a visit to a Miami school. This school was the highest earning school for Hats On Day for the 2006-2007 school year. As a special reward and thank you to the school, Thumbelina stopped in to say “thank- neigh- you!.” Here is the note that the school sent to us after Thumbelina’s visit:

Dear Ms. Kirkiewicz,

Thank you so much for allowing us to be visited by Thumbelina. What an impressive undertaking, to visit sick and well children alike. Mr. Goessling and Will were gracious and patient with all of our students from the youngest to the eldest. They truly are ambassadors of good will. Thumbelina is also a wonderful, patient and kind horse to allow herself to be awed and touched by so many.

We are extremely excited to participate in Hats on Day this coming March 7, 2008. Many of our students know other children personally who are survivors. The children feel empowered to help others by contributing to such a good cause and wearing an outward reminder of faith and support to others. Thank you again for this wonderful experience. The children, staff and parents who came to take pictures were truly enamored by Thumbelina.Sincerely,

Dr. Joyce McGhee, Headmistress
